Steve MacDonald

Background

Steven MacDonald is Chief Information and Technology Officer at SGI,
where he leads the organization’s technology, data, cybersecurity and
technology strategy functions. He is focused on ensuring technology is
an enabler of SGI’s business strategy, while continuing to modernize
the organization’s technology landscape and strengthen its ability to
deliver change.

Steven believes technology organizations are most effective when they
are closely connected to the business outcomes they support. His
approach emphasizes clear strategy and outcomes, strong business and
technology partnerships, and measurable value from technology
investments. He has a particular interest in technology
transformation, the evolving role of data and AI, and building
technology organizations that can adapt quickly as business needs
change.

Steven also serves on the Board of Directors of CSIO and is actively
involved in the Canadian insurance and technology communities.
